Hospitality - Why Do You Want This Job?

To begin, I want this job because of the close-knit team environment you guys have. I checked out the company's online reviews and found that the consistent message from each review was how well the team worked together. These reviews were a mix of staff and customers, and I want to be part of that environment - a team that has a family feel to it. With the right team around me I'm positive that I can be successful and help the company grow into a prestigious leader in the industry.

To add to that, I absolutely love the area that we work in. I enjoy being part of a guest's holiday to see how much they enjoy their break away from their everyday lives. It's a great feeling to be part of that. One of the guests at a previous hotel I was working at told my Manager that he and his wife would be coming back to the hotel again the following year and that all the thanks for that should go to me. They said that I added to their amazing experience and that I was a credit to the hotel. Most of the time, the role doesn't even seem like a job to me because I enjoy it so much, and the guests see that in my work. When I wake up for work I'm always dying to come in. The job is like a hobby that I get paid for.

Lastly, I want to represent your company. Your values are in line with my own and for that reason alone, I know I'm on to a winner. You guys are known to keep the customer at the forefront of your minds and that is a mirror image of me.

The Interviewee begins with a compliment regarding how well the team works together, highlighting the admiration the company's staff is receiving. The employer would like to hear this and will admire the research carried out. The Interviewee also shows their drive when they mention their aim to be a leader in the industry. Every company wants to get to that level and to hear those goals from an Interviewee would be welcoming.

The Interviewee very intelligently quotes a customer they had an experience with in a previous job. This is a very good sign because the Interviewee mentions that the conversation occurred between the customer and the Interviewee's former Manager; something that the employer could possibly confirm through a background check. It was also a very positive thing to hear about the Interviewee and showed the employer that the Interviewee gave the previous hotel repeat business. Every business wants repeat business and this would make the Interviewee stand out.

They finish by connecting themselves again with the company's values. A demonstration of this would have helped the answer along also.

Overall, the answer was structured. They used what they knew would be the most relevant points for the employer, and they made sure to throw in the review from the customer which would be vital in swaying the employer's decision.
