The word ‘gaiety’ refers to somebody or something characterized by liveliness and fun. It is most commonly used to express a feeling or atmosphere of great happiness and abandon, or a person’s personality. The term can also be spelt ‘gayety’, though ‘gaiety’ is much more common.
