Though ‘chutzpah’ is used to describe a person with extreme confidence, if not arrogance, with the temerity to do and say things that may go beyond what is considered acceptable behaviour, the word is rarely used in a negative context. It is typically used to express admiration at somebody’s resourcefulness and boldness. Chiefly used in North America.
